Airport Grid
The Airport Grid is the main screen. It lists your saved airports as squares, in two sections:
- My Trip — the airports for the trip you’re flying now.
- My Airports — every other airport you’ve saved.

Square colors (flight category)
The square’s background shows the flight category from the latest METAR:
What’s on a square
- ICAO code, with the IATA code underneath when it’s different (for example MWCR / GCM).
- Wind arrow — points the way the wind is blowing, north up.
- Wind text — direction (degrees true, as in the METAR) and speed in knots, for example 230/12, with gusts as G22. Shows VRB or CALM when reported.
- Temperature — in the unit you choose in Settings.
- Yellow outline — a favorite. Blue outline — a newly added airport you haven’t opened yet.
- Delay indicator — shows when the airport has a ground stop, ground delay program, or other delay. Tap the square to open the airport.
Turn the wind arrow, wind text, and temperature on or off in Settings.

My Trip and your schedule
If you’ve imported a schedule, My Trip shows the airports of one sequence at a time. The current sequence takes over the day after a trip ends.
My Sequences. Tap the sequence line under the My Trip title to open My Sequences:
- Tap SEQ to show or hide that sequence’s flights.
- Select shows that sequence in My Trip. The one already showing is marked My Trip ✓.
- The share button sends the sequence to another SimpleAvWx user (how). Shared marks a sequence someone sent you.
- Each flight shows its flight code (or number), airports, and times. Deadhead legs are marked DHD. Tap a flight to follow it on the map. To stop, swipe left on the followed flight or press and hold it, then tap Unfollow.
Sorting and grouping
Tap the sort icon next to a section title to choose Default (alphabetical by ICAO code) or Grouped by Region (by the first letter of the ICAO code), and the sort direction. Each section keeps its own setting.
Selecting several airports
- Tap ⋯ → Select Airports. The title changes to “Select Airports”.
- Tap squares to select them. A checkmark appears. Press and hold the Selected count to select every airport.
- Use the bar at the top: the trash button deletes the selection. The menu has Remove Selected, Remove All, Add Selected, and Toggle Selected for My Trip, plus Mark as Favorite and Unfavorite All.
- Tap Done.
Text size
Tap ⋯ and use the Text Size stepper to make the grid text larger or smaller.
Low Data Mode
With Low Data Mode on, the grid says “Low data mode is on.” Weather downloads only for My Trip airports and airports you tap.
